About The Design
I originally had done a much larger version of the Philly Print filled with icons that represented the city of Philadelphia but I had some unused icons as well as a number of folks who wanted a smaller print. So I took a few icons from the original, notably the Liberty Bell and the Phanatic, I then added the unused hoagie and eagle being sure to add the champs hat in honor of the Birds recent Super Bowl win. It basically is a love letter to Philly with some old and new icons for the City of Brotherly Love.

Illustration Process
Each icon begins as a sketch, it's then taken into Illustrator where I try to give little pops of texture and then colors. For this I did about 25 icons before settling on what ones really fit the esthetic of this piece. I decided to add a few of the foods ones into one little corner, I did the same with a few that represented Ben Franklin. I felt the two sports mascots facing each other felt appropriate and added some real balance.
